As the captain of the team, Mark has led by example all season. Leaving his drinking exploits aside, however, Mark has been a tower of strength in defence this year. Strong in the air and in the tackle, Mark has a never-say-die attitude that pervades through the rest of the team. Nerves of steel and a kick like a mule also help at the other end of the field, as now and again he will stroll up to slot away a penalty/ free kick or three. Come rain or shine, flu or loo, Mark can always be relied upon to be there and be counted. A captain’s season indeed!
